If you really want to get the feel for the original launcher use curseforge, make a folder woth no mods, launch the launcher using curseforge, change the actual launching condition (like how you’d pick which version of minecraft is launched). If you try to use the original launcher to even install the gake the main files that make the game wont even download. This has been a problem since the migration happened. The 3rd party sources still use mojangs launcher so thats not a problem there. Any attempts to launch the game, are met with nothing.
